If you thought you'd tried everything without success to resolve an academic or administrative problem on campus it's time to contact the Student Advocates Office.

This is also the place to come to when you need to drop all your classes in the current semester.

The student advocates are retired faculty and administrators who can help IU students finds solutions to a myriad of problems. Thanks to their long standing ties to the university community the advocates can often resolve the unresolveable problems you are facing. The advocates can help: explain university policies and procedures

  1. Explain university policies and procedures
  2. Advise students about their options
  3. Direct students to the people on campus who will address their issues
  4. Make inquiries on a student's behalf
  5. Follow up to be sure that a problem has been resolved
  6. Accompany a student to meetings or hearings relating to the problem.

Another service of the office is to make it easier to withdraw from all your classes in the current semester. It's a simple process, but you do need to stop in to sign the needed form. Depending on the time of year you may or maynot be eligible for a refund of class fees. Call or e-mail for details.
